This morning my brain treated me to one of its store of standard psycho-killer scenarios, this time adapted as a retelling of Lost's Tailie's episode from a couple weeks back.
Pretty much the same story except that they landed on a beach with the ruins of an old resort, so they had some shelter to start with. The ruins were, of course, haunted and creepy, and they soon learned to stay the hell away from them unless it was dumping down rain. And The Others showed up on cue, too. The first time they appeared in a rainstorm and stole the children and were all creepy and telling the Tailies that they'd be back to finish certain of them off. And then they showed up in broad daylight and with chain saws. With which they attacked and dismembered the specified Tailies. There was a particularly nice shot of a woman being beheaded for which I did not thank my brain. Oddly, it was revealed that Charlie started out as a Tailie but bailed out of their beach after the first crazed chain-saw attack. I spent the balance of the dream (when I wasn't trying to mentally squint through the gore) trying to work out how he'd been in two places at once and being very annoyed with the writers for contradicting canon so blatantly.
Today is EvilCorps' day of Forced Holiday Merriment. This morning we were offered Holiday Bread Products at various locations. We were given tickets to the Holiday Luncheon Buffet, which we are invited to eat in various conference rooms. This afternoon there will be Holiday Sweets and Warm Beverages available in the cafeteria. Friday we have our Small Group Forced Merriment--lunch with our discipline at a fairly nice restaurant. Whee. At least it's a combined Accounting/ODS thing so I can glom onto Sarah W and try to find a non-evil corner to occupy.
Okay. I really can't put off calling these reviewers any longer. Wish me luck with my cold calls.
