Yes, I spent all day Saturday doing this. I am crazy. I'm quite pleased with the result, though it does take a bit of a dive toward bummersville there at the end.
Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present the very-originally named "Can't Take the Sky," my very own Firefly mix.

Can't help it. It's a cheezy pun and I've done this song to death this season, but this just feels like Wash, don't it? All carefree and happying his way through Zoe's tough-as-really-tough-nails exterior...

Please forgive the cheeze-ridden Dylan cover. But it's all duety and now I can't get past the idea that Wash wooed Zoe with it and dear lord please do not make me write Wash/Zoe first-time fic because talk about done to death...

There's lots and lots for us to see. Lots and lots for us to do. She's electric, can I be electric too?
The lyrics don't match too well here, in general, but it just makes me think of Kaylee and how much she loves Serenity and everyone on that boat.

Heavy handed, yes. Did I claim this was a subtle mix? No. I did not.

At first this song was for Mal, and then I had too many Mal songs, and then I listened to it again and it became vaguely Jayne and Riveresque, and then Jayne and Kayleesque, and then I realized it's all about Jayne and his true love: Vera.

Popular mechanics for broken hearts could help me now.
Though technically my Kaylee/Simon song, this one has a bit of a Jayne/Kaylee feel to it, too. Gorrammit, Jayne, would you stop sexing up everyone you share screentime with already?
