Happy(?) Monday!

1) Sadface that it wasn't really Jaime Murray on Twitter.

2) It's Monday, which means two more days until Wednesday! Which means i) I get paid and ii) Warehouse 13 season finale! I honestly don't see why H.G. can't continue on to season 3 (well, writing notwithstanding). Jaime Murray will have wrapped Spartacus: Gods of the Arena well before ( Read more... )

television: warehouse 13, wps, jaime murray, football soccer, twitterific, school: i know all the drug dealer jokes

Dude, your life is too interesting. I have no idea what 'the phantom' is or what a '3T MRI' is but it sounds like smart talk, so I'mma pretend I do and go along with it.

Haha yes, "too" interesting indeed! I wish it would slow down so I could have a time out! My dissertation is researching the effects of methamphetamine on the brain, and the phantom is basically a big container of sorts that we built to simulate the human brain. We know everything that's in it and what their concentrations are, so we can use that to compare to something that we don't know the concentration of (i.e. a real human subject's brain), and find out its concentration.

3T stands for "3 Tesla," it's just the size of the magnet in the MRI machine. We previously only had a 1.5T scanner so our supervisor wants us to redo everything for the new machine, which is supposed to be more powerful and sharper.

Hope that explained it a bit! I spend a lot of time bitching and not a lot of time telling people about it, haha.

Honestly, that sounds like quiet a life. You must go to a pretty nice university. Your equipment sounds nice. My college network (not really "my" college - I'm only in dual enrollment because my school doesn't offer AP classes - but whatever) is still on Windows 98!

I go to the University of Auckland. It's #1 in NZ (not difficult) and apparently #68 in the world, which I guess is pretty decent for a small university Down Under! We're only getting to use this equipment because of the research, otherwise it's all for postgraduate students. But wow, 98 is practically ancient :/
