blah blah blah football blah... go USA!

So, NZ Women's U-20 lost to Korea DPR 2-1 yesterday.  I didn't get to watch it because our Sky Sports subscription has expired and we're not renewing it because there's no more football.  I say there's no more football because Sky Sports NZ is only showing the games that NZ is playing and it doesn't look as though they've scheduled the final or anything to air.

SUCK.  There are live online streams, of course, but I haven't tried them out yet because the internet at home is far too slow.  I normally watch sport at uni but the games are showing at ridiculous times such as 12 AM or 2 AM because I live in NZ and the U-20 WWC is in Germany, and uni closes at 12.  Woe is me!  Also, I still haven't figured out all the time differences so I end up losing track of everything and having to follow it up later in football blogs like All White Kit or something.

Anyway, I'm sad.  Not because NZ lost (we're not great yet), but because we lost to Korea DPR, specifically.  Stupid dictatorship country*.  I haven't forgotten when their U-17 Women's team beat USA in the first-ever U-17 WWC final (which I got to see live because it was in NZ, yay, can we have more tournaments in the Southern Hemisphere, please?) and I guess that kind of makes it grate a bit more.

I dunno.  It's all political stuff (which I get sucked into) and I just want to watch women's football LIVE on TV.

*Yes, I know I'm coming across as a petulant child and I don't really know what happens inside the North Korean borders (it could be roses for them, I don't know), but I naively expect dictatorship countries with brainwashed citizens to be excluded from sporting world cups.  I really want to know what happens to them if they don't win.  Like, what happened to the North Korean team after they got knocked out in the group stage?  Did their failure overshadow the fact that they made the finals for the first time in 40+ years?  I'm honestly curious as to whether or not their team got the same heroic coverage as the All Whites did.  Anyway, I digress.  I was really happy when the USA's U-20 team of 2008 beat the shit (well, not beat the shit, but still beat) out of Korea DPR (who were defending champions!!  Gahh) in the final.
