I think it’s high time I tried leaving my room for other parts of the hotel; I’m getting that recluse-y feeling. And next thing you know, my horns will grow out, and everything’ll just deteriorate until I’m a lot less glamorous than the original Lorne everyone knows and can’t help but love. It’s a crime to deny people things they want, isn’t it?
Okay, excuse the touch of ego, but it still stands I’ve been in here too long. I’m guessing my duties have fallen behind. I need to check up on everyone and make sure they’re doing alright, keep up The Mission. Angel would want it that way. Did, from what he told me. And I wasn’t about to let him down.
First person I thought of as I left my room was the newest princess, Carly. There’s one chickadee who’s not adjusting to the nest all that well, and considering what happened that’s pretty understandable. But I better be sure she’s doing alright, or as close as she can get to alright, because when people don’t adjust right in this game, they tend to get a bit dead. And since she’s got so much potential to do right -- no pun intended -- it’d just kill me to see it wasted.
I headed downstairs, took a look see around in the Lobby, and didn’t see anyone. I can't say I'm all that surprised, I wonder if Angel's finished making the rounds yet before he moves on. I hope they give him enough time to get to everyone, considering I'm betting quite a few could use some of the same pearls of wisdom he passed my way.
I hear footsteps behind me, and jump a mile, turning around quickly. “Whoa!” I saw who it was, and let out the breath I’d been holding, waiting for my heart to get out of my chest. And considering where my heart is, in the physiological sense, that’s one hell of a jump folks. Not exactly a pleasant jump either. “Kitten, you need to warn someone before you go sneaking up like that!” Okay, that sort of makes ‘sneaking up’ lose its luster just a tad, but…
“Anyway, just the person I’ve been looking for. How’re things on your end?”
