[the video clicks on to show Watanuki, scrubbing away at the kitchen counter until it's spotless. a few feet away, some meat sizzles cheerfully in a pan; work work work, as usual! he looks at the dreamberry, gives it a small smile.]
It's odd, I remember my last new years' dream being quite vivid, but this year--nothing yet. At least, nothing the little device picked up on. I suppose I should be happy.
[he moves over to the skillet and moves the slices around a bit, flips a few which are getting nicely golden.] Other people have had some intense dreams--but no eggplants, mountains or eagles so far. A lot of blood.
[he moves to take some zucchini out of the fridge.]
Maybe it's going to be an unlucky year.
[he pauses, then chuckles.] Listen to me--what a downer. Has anyone made any interesting resolutions? Maybe Yuuko-san could drink less.
[he sets the vegetable down on the counter, makes an alarmed noise when the beef sizzles a bit too intensely, then leans over and briskly shuts off the dreamberry.]
I found some aged whiskey in our stores. What do you think about serving it with the penne I'm preparing? [this is your not!son asking you if you're okay, because your hasubando is gone :c]
Thank you for helping me with the osechi-ryori; it turned out well, don't you think? I'm sorry I couldn't give you a proper otoshidama.
