With a flash of light, he disappeared and the ice cream bar fell from Axel’s hand, landing with a plop on the ground below. To his surprise, a single drop of water that hit the ledge beneath his feet accompanied it. He blinked and looked up, expecting to see a rain cloud or something…when he noticed the dampness on his face. He brought his hand up, touching his cheek and pulled it away…it was wet. Axel scowled and wiped at his face, “It’s just the rain…just my…imagination.”
There was not a cloud in the sky…but there was a hitch in his voice as he said these words. Axel pulled his knees to his chest and buried his face into his knees…after all…who had ever heard of a Nobody crying?
