New time in my life, need new music.
Any suggestions? I'm going to buy myself a new cd soon, but I don't have anything specific in mind. What are you guys listening to right now that's particularly awesome? Oh, and I don't care if it's new or old, as long as it's new to me.

the weakerthans' album 'reconstruction site' is great. really interesting lyrics. one song is called "Over Retired Explorer (Dines With Michel Foucault In Paris, 1961)"
luna is always good. (esp. 'penthouse' and 'romantica')
neko case!
guided by voices!
the castanets are pretty interesting. and devendra banhart has some good stuff.
if you've never heard the fiery furnaces, you might like their first album, 'gallowsbird bark'

I can't remember which of their albums it was that the store had. Maybe I'll go back Monday and see if that's the one. I'm going to make a list of all these suggestions from everyone so that I have something to go by...

i just ordered wilco and badly drawn boy. i'll let you know what i think. they should come in this week sometime.
who else? jeff buckley, the flaming lips, nick drake, elliott smith (though he can be depressing). mike sport murphy is really good but not very well known. but i'd definitely check out rufus. any of his albums are great, but i think my favorite is poses. want two is really good too. hell, they all are.

I've definitely heard of Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake, and Elliott Smith, but I've never listened to any of them.
I looked up Badly Drawn Boy and he sounds pretty interesting.
