Everyone is just worried about what might happen, Sasuke. I've defended you though it all but...I don't know if I made much progress. A lot of people don't trust you right now because of this. They're scared that you may side with Madara. I don't believe you would ever do that...but others have doubts.

Can you please promise me that you'll be more cautious if this sort of thing ever happens again? I don't want to lose you, Sasuke. You mean so much to me.

I forgive you, Sasuke. I know you didn't mean to and you just jumped to conclusions. It was a misunderstanding for both parties.

But maybe...if you talk to Konoha about this, to apologize to them, you could gain some of their trust back. Tenten will probably be willing to hear you out now that you've calmed down and that she's been ruled out as a suspect.

Then they're just foolishly hoping that I'll fit the image of me that they know of. I'm sick and tired of it. If this is how they react to one stupid mistake, then it's how they react whenever I happen to fuck up the next time. They want to do nothing more but make me into what I'm not. They're doing nothing but pushing me closer to my breaking point, Sakura. I can't trust anyone from the village but you and Kakashi.

What do you honestly think an apology will accomplish, besides temporary trust?

I'm saying that it might be a start. You've lost a lot of trust within the village. Even if you have these negative feelings for the village, I don't think it's a good idea to make enemies with them. And that's a very real possibility with how things are going.

I'm glad I have your trust, Sasuke...but please don't make me choose between you and the village.

Temporary trust can evolve into something more, given time.

This has been happening constantly since almost immediately after my arrival here. Shodaime and Yondaime were the only ones who didn't judge me, no matter what anyone said to them. I don't care to make enemies with them. I care about being judged by who I decide to visit and associate with during my free time. It's why I moved out in the first place. It's my life, not theirs, and I'll see whoever I damn well please.

How do you think I feel about choosing between my family and the village? If Tsunade forces me to, I'm done.

If more and more people keep showing up from our future? I wonder how much longer such trust will stand.
