today i spent two hours talking to the otousan (caretaker) in the dorm
two hours of full japanese, insanely intense
he jumped topics like crazy too
well for the first 15~20 minutes he was correcting my short essay
then we got to talking about what was his job before
and how he met okaasan
how she was so pretty that there were lots of guys,
but she chose him
how okaasan was in a medicine commercial
and he said she USED to be pretty, but now her face is full of wrinkles
to which of course i responded 'hidoooiii.'
i also said that okaasan is a lot better looking than my mom and he's like
'you can't say that about your own mother!'
then he talked about brand name dishes and cups
to how to make dishes and cups in a kiln
then about teddy bears...
then about everyone in the seminar house
it was soooo fun
he's so hilarious though.
he made a poster with everyone's faces on it
and then in english he names the poster in big lettering
"my important children"
anyway, he has now become my most favorite person ever.
