New Start
Decided to get a new journal, mostly because I can't figure out how to charm my paper one so that my brother can't sneak into it without breaking any random Wizarding Rules. I suppose I could just see if I could find one of those nice invisible ink ones when I go school shopping, now that I think about it, but this seems a bit safer, somehow, anyway. Nothing like good old fashioned Muggle technology, I suppose. Let's see him try and crack the password to this. Novice.
Speaking of my stupid brother, he broke my wand this morning. He was using it to unjam the ice maker. Why he didn't just pout hot water over the thing or ask Grandmother to pull a little Abra-Cadabra move on it, I'll never know, but instead of using common sense, he used my wand and snapped it in half. Thanks alot, bro. Grandmother says we can just get another one when we go to Daigon Alley to pick up my supplies for the year, but (as stuck up as this makes me sound) that doesn't really solve anything. Her response to anything that the little twerp does is "He's just jealous, Hitomi, he's just acting out. Be patient, this stage will pass." However, it's been five years and he's still just "acting out" and I know that if I were to go and rip the wiring out of his Xbox I would be sent to bed without supper and be on house arrest for a week because I "Know better". Blah. I love my family, I really do, but I can't wait to get back to school. If I have to deal with the little twerp for much longer I'm gonna scream.
On a more chipper note, Medusa finally had her kittens a few weeks ago, and Grandmother says that more than likely, I'll be able to take one to school with me to keep my company. I already claimed the runt--she's black and white with a crooked tail.
I think I'll name her Potato.
