Author’s Notes: Apparently, I enjoying making Sayid suffer. I don't know how I feel about this.
نصف (nisf)
Half of him knows dark: tastes sand against his tongue; half of him knows heat. Half of him traces scars he drew himself, with the touch of a man who remembers.
Half of him knows light: the cool touch of moonlit leaves on the curve of his spine; knows the shadow of the unknown racing through him as he sinks into something softer, something innocent.
Only half.
And even here, at the end of everything he’s ever meant to know, he does not feel at rest. Even when the life has left him, his soul knows no peace.
This is this only heaven he’s ever dared to crave.
