Girl's Not Grey
“Wake up,” she hears it, deep like a shot of whiskey, the shot of a gun. The voice of the Father - she has no father.
“Wake up” - the voice of the Son, like needles in her flesh; she stirs, she wants.
“Wake up, Claire.” A whisper from blue eyes that shine like the waters in Hell; her heart leaps as she rises from the sleep of a princess, the sleep of the damned, her lips pressed into a thin line - between love and life and hate and whatever is beyond, wherever she’s been stuck.
Long overdue, she thinks. It’s long overdue.
She’s been gone for far too long.
