Oooh, the angst, it burns so good.

We all wish for the fluffy ending, but sometimes that isn't possible.

I am terrible with fluffy endings, and have only ever tried to use them because angst seems to depress people. I, on the other hand, think that angst is often the more realistic approach. So thank you, for appreciating the angst as it is ;)

Poor Tony -- always a little more hopeful than the situation warrants with careful Pepper.

Typo alert -- in the last line, did you drop "security number" as in "social security number".

Yes indeed; poor Tony. And in regards to the typo, that was deliberate; where I live, "social security number" is often shortened to "social" in conversation, and even sometimes in formal presentation. Is that a regional thing, then? Thanks for the heads up, though :)

The shortening isn't one with which I'm familiar (midwestern upbringing) but I could be seriously out of touch, living in Canada for the past twenty years!

Now I am really intrigued by this (little discrepancies always tend to catch my interest) - because I'm working from a similar area's dialect, and there are government agencies around here who will ask me for my "social" and expect me to know what they're talking about. Hmm.... very interesting (and I'm a bit jealous that you live in Canada. I love Canada.)
