GUH.I hate to start at the end, but that seems a fitting place to start for DW a fic. This whole scene is gorgeous. So much of what I love about this pairing is the way they keep finding their way to each other, often without even meaning to and this scene fits into that perfectly.

You write the best Doctor. I'm seriously in awe of the way you nail his mannerisms and his delightfully Doctor-esque speech pattern. And I swear that last line made me swoon. Thank you so much for such a lovely present! :D

I have a confession: when River was introduced in S4, I kind of despised her. I thought it was a terrible kitschy plot device that RTD introduced without any real consistency or potential, and generally, that was something I did not want at all.

But... ever since we got Eleven, and the new series started picking up speed and really gripping me, I began to fall in love with her character -- the more we learned about her, and the less we seemed to know about her at the very same time, it's all so exciting and she's so... guh. Yes.

So, that aside: I have to say that I am particularly and especially thrilled that you thought this worked with her, seeing as I'm a bit late coming to the River bandwagon ;) And that you think my Doctor works is basically, like, the biggest compliment -- thank you so much :D
