Character info
Series/Fandom: Thor [Movie Verse]
Character's Name: Jane Foster
Character's Sex: Female
Character's Age: 30ish
Canon point: Just after The Destroyer kills Thor
Abilities: Jane is a mortal woman with no special abilities. She is, however, an astrophysicist. She is very smart and knowledgeable and knows all there is to know in her field of study.
Strengths: Her mind is her strength, her study is astrophysics and she's put a lot of time and dedication into it, allowing her to be quite knowledgeable in it. She also has the ability to do the opposite of what people tell her to do and hit people with her car without meaning to.
Weaknesses: She is just a human being so she can be killed, hurt, maimed, etc. Because she also only studied in her field, she has virtually no fighting ability with which to protect herself. She's also a bit impulsive and a little gullible as she believed Thor over her mentor and colleague about the Bifrost and what it could be.
Background: No more smashing!
Appearance: Quite dashing, really~
Personality: Jane is a very headstrong and optimistic woman, sometimes too headstrong. But she has grown up believing that the truth is out there and had dedicated several years of research to finding out what that truth may be. Being the determined young woman that she is, Jane won't let anything stand in her way. Even with the possibility that Thor was lying, she pushed for her answers. She follows her instincts to get what she needs, even if that means she could put herself in harm's way (the Bifrost incident in the beginning of the movie is one example). Jane is ultimately a good person but simply headstrong in what she wants and needs, especially when it comes to finding out the truth of (possibly) other life in space. Thor could be her answer.

But perhaps she can be a little too determined. She believed Thor's words almost right away and was willing to drive to enclosed and high security place for him. Luckily, she didn't exactly agree with his plan when he said he would break in and fly out, so we know that while a little gullible, she's not completely absent minded or distracted. Not when it counts, anyway (i.e. when she's already in trouble, fff). But even after all was settled, she still believed him. Was it his charm? Or was it because he very clearly held her answers? Or was it both? Probably. Thor is a very charming fellow and definitely made Jane flustered quite often with not only his looks but his mannerisms (other than the smashing of mugs).

But perhaps most of all, Jane is simply passionate. She wants to know the truth, it's been her dream for such a long time. She's kept everything she knows, her thesis, her hypothesis, her research, everything, in a notebook. She has hard copies and digital copies of everything and she knows she's close and it absolutely devastated her when all those years of research was snatched away from her. Jane would have to start from scratch which would take even more years to do and it was only lucky for her that Thor managed to, at the very least, get her notebook back. Which made her very optimistic for her future, knowing that now she didn't have to start from scratch.

Jane is a good person with a lot of ambition and determination. She's willing to help others and strangers, as seen from when she drove Thor to the hospital (despite worrying that he was a potential crazy person) and when she helped evacuate the city during the attack from the Destroyer. But she also has a fierce side about her when Thor breaks the mug and she's chides him or when she tends to become exasperated and yell at Darcy (like when all Darcy could complain about was the iPod SHIELD too).

Strengths: She's passionate, determined, and will always look for alternatives if she can't figure something out. She'll try to hardest to get her point across if she believes in something hard enough. She follows her instincts, believing them to lead her on the right path even if it means defying her mentor, Erik. She is also compassionate and kind, willing to help even a stranger who had fallen from the sky. Jane is also very smart and eager to learn more, willing to listen to any theories or stories one might have, especially if it relates to what she is looking for. Which would explain why she found Thor so fascinating (besides his pretty face) when he told her the story of how magic and science were one and the same, how the Einsten-Rosen Bridge (aka a Rainbow Bridge/Bifrost) worked, everything. Jane wants to know more and she won't limit herself to simple fact of science but anything (as long as it makes sense, of course).
Weaknesses: But it is perhaps that passion and eagerness that can get her into trouble. She was lucky to not have been caught when they went to the SHIELD encampment but she had to resort to calling Erik and telling him that she had done exactly what she had promised not to do. Her determination led her into what could have been tornado (luckily, it wasn't). She also tends to be a little starstruck when it comes to cute men who happen to be unabashedly charming to her in a very chivalrous way (but it could also be because very few men act like Thor does), which almost got into trouble when she led Thor to SHIELD.

Samples
Action/Journal Sample: [Hello Traverse Town and the rest of the worlds, you have a very distraught Jane Foster on the line and she's arguing with the moogles.]

Please, explain it all later, I need to find a friend! H-he was hurt! [She sniffles lightly, running her hand through her hair.] Last time I saw him, he was on the ground! You don't understand, I need to find him!

His name is Thor, please tell me you've seen him? Or-Or my other friends, Erik Selvig and Darcy Lewis? They aren't hurt but I didn't see them after the... the Darkness, you said? The Darkness came and-

I just need to make sure everyone's alright! [She is curious, don't get her wrong. She has no idea where she is or what's going on but she'd be a lot more calm and collected if she knew Thor was okay and not lying on the ground bleeding!] Please...!
RP Sample: Jane sat in the hotel in Traverse Town, utterly amazed at everything around her. She was worried for her friends, she didn't know if they made it. But she also couldn't help but want to go places, see what she had been missing! Even Traverse Town, both a world and a city, was unique. And those moogles were so kind and cuddly, now that she was calmer she wanted to go and buy them some ice cream or something, to make up for how hysterical she was earlier. She had studied the phone she was give, just amazed at all the people she was seeing. Mainly because not all of them were even human!

And all of the worlds looked so fascinating. Like the one with star-shaped fruit, papous she remembered them being called, she wanted to try one! She bet they tasted good (and secretly hoped they didn't give her any sort of diseases like she heard of the news back home. Exotic fruit could be lethal, you know! ...maybe?)!

She rolled off the bed and dug into her jacket, pulling out her notebook and frantically opening to a blank page. Quickly, she pulled up the picture of the fruit and began drawing it into her book. She wanted to remember it in case she lost the picture, adding the words "Destiny Island" on the top. It wasn't the greatest, but it was a start in learning about these new worlds. She wondered if they were part of the Nine Realms, Thor had talked about, thought she couldn't remember all their names and-

Thor! She needed to go to talk to him now that she had found him! She stuffed the book back and headed out of her room and to Thor's. She knocked quietly. "Thor, may I come in?"
