“Women, can't live with them... end of sentence.”
“So I hear you have a boyfriend.”
Anna looked up at Jen in shock from her place on the couch, before reaching down and smacking Blake on the shoulder. Jen had just driven in for some odd reason, and Blake hadn’t left New York since he had dropped Anna off after Easter. The three of them were wasting the day until Anna had to go to work in front of the TV, and the subject had suddenly gone from Tom Cruise being scary to Anna having a boyfriend. Anna was sprawled across the couch, while Blake was sitting on the floor with his back against the furniture, while Jen was on an arm chair across the room.
Blake jumped slightly at the smack, before looking up at her innocently. “I didn’ tell her!”
“Sure about that?” Anna frowned, raising an eyebrow.
“He didn’t,” Jen replied, rolling her eyes. “I heard through the grapevine. How did he know before I did?”
“I read her mind,” Blake answered before he felt another smack against the back of his head. “What? She asked.”
Anna rolled her eyes, before collapsing back on the couch. “Yes, I have a boyfriend, no you don’t get to meet him.”
Jen pouted slightly at that. “Why not?”
“Because.”
“Because why?” Now Jen was whining. It wasn’t all that attractive.
“Because he’s normal,” Blake replied. “So normal that he’s still under the delusion that the supernatural is something done with 3D special effects.”
“So does this mean we’re never going to meet him ever? Or just until you get caught up in something supernatural and he demands you explain?”
Anna looked innocently over at Jen for a moment, before shrugging. “Both?”
“Hun. I know you like it when a person doesn’t know what your family does. But eventually he’s going to find out and he’s not going to like it that you didn’t tell him.”
“Yeah, but it doesn’t end in him leaving me because he thinks I’m crazy either,” Anna said quietly, looking down at her hands. “Besides. Ignorance is bliss, right?”
“If he’s going to be getting to know our family, then he won’t be ignorant for very long, darlin’,” Blake pointed out. “And he better be gettin’ to know him if you’re already in love with him.”
Anna froze, her eyes widening as she looked over at him, and Jen shrieked. “You’re already in love with him.”
“Don’t, alright?” Anna sighed. “Don’t make a big deal out of this? And stop reading my mind!”
“Anna. We clearly have to meet this boy. Because you know that if it weren’t for this boy, you would have bailed on the Winchesters a long time ago.” Jen crossed her arms in front of her chest, and gave her a look. “You hooked. And I want to meet him. To make sure he’s good enough.”
Anna sighed slightly, letting her eyes play with the fabric of the couch. “I’ll think about it, alright?”
“Fine,” Jen sighed, before collapsing back in the chair. Blake paused for a minute, watching the two of them, before shaking his head.
“Women.” There was pause, and then he was hit with two pillows coming from opposite directions. “Hey!”
