I watched the press conferences for all 3 console developer companies. I'll sum them up here:
Nintendo: "We're special."
Microsoft: "Buy an X-box, and you'll be popular."
Sony: "DUCKS!"
To explain a little more in depth:
Nintendo knows damn well that their console is bringing up the bottom of the feild in sales. The spent a lot of time talking about useless stuff and constantly bringing up that they're better than Sony and they made the NES.
I couldn't stand to watch all of Microsofts press conference. Basically, they showed a video where some guy turns on an X-box 360, and look, he's popular! There are people brakdancing in his house! Look at them all! He can't even handle all the friends. The moral: the X-box 360 will get you laid.
Sony had a the longest of the 3, at 1 hour and 45 minutes. Almost the entire time was spent discussing hardware specs (which, I must say, are insane.) and showing some pretty awesome tech demos. On such tech demo was a rubber duck in a bathtub. The duck swam around the tub to show off the water effects that the PS3 will be capable of. Then he droped in some ships, which shot cannonballs at each other for a bit, showing off the awesome splashes and movement. Then he dropped in 5 more ducks, that swam around and bumped into stuff, showing off the physics and bump mapping. Then he dumped in like, 400 ducks, to show what it would look like if you put 400 ducks in a bathtub.
So, all biases and fanboyness aside, Sony had the best conference of the three as well as the best looking new system. And the Nintendo Revoloution is like, the size of my hand.
END OF LINE.
