Sports are supposed to be a way to relieve stress, not be a source of stress. I always leave practice feeling discouraged and frustrate. And let's face it, the erg is not exactly the most enjoyable form of exercise...it's actually quite similar to torture. Crew is pushing me to my mental and physical limits, and I am having a hard time breaking through. Being on the water is different - you get to enjoy being outside. But when you're on that erg just staring at numbers and going back and forth, back and forth, it gets a little frustrating. I probably won't do crew next year for the simple reason that I miss tennis, but I am hoping that within the next four months, I'll have a major breakthrough in terms of mental toughness.

Oh. I'm applying to U.Va. and UNC for Fall '08!
