My weekend began with a cast party at Luke's house. No, I'm not a part of the cast, but my friends are and invited me to join. What a great group of people. I got to speak to people I have only met in passing, which was wonderful.
One person in particular held my interest. Andy. Andy is a theater major at UMD (he was Toad in Frog and Toad with Tom Benson) and he sings in the Vocal Jazz program. He is a very kind and charming person. He and I were the only 2 people who only knew the Weird Al Star Wars version of "American Pie" and found out this fact only when we sang, "this here Anakin guy". It was great.
Saturday I went to a peace/anti-war rally downtown where CSS students made up half of the crowd. Man, am I proud of that fact. I took some great photos for the Cable, being that I was the only press coverage the rally had. A sad fact I may add. Mujtaba wrote a great Op-Ed piece about the rally, very well written.
Today I had lunch with Mooch and discussed "Paradise Now", a film about Palestinians in their struggle with the Israelis. It was an afternoon of intellect. Wonderful.
Now, I am writing a paper on the movie "Iris", waiting for Andy to come over for dinner and a movie. I am making us chicken stir fry. Not sure which movie we'll watch. I will find something good.
With a weekend like this, this week should be good. Let us hope.
