Fed up with everything

Dir en grey fans are really annoying me... They're tearing apart all of MTV's/the media's little mistakes and any somewhat broad statements, and they're having shit fits over the idea that Dir en grey merchandise might be sold in Hot Topic.

If you know of any Dir en grey fans, you've probably heard about the possibility of them touring with Korn and other bands this summer by now. Two of the places are Hartford and Darien, but I'm 90% sure Deg won't perform at ALL the places.

I was excited at first, but now after only about 2 days of controversial posts hogging my Friend's Page, I'm sick of all this. About a year ago I'd probably be annoyed by the media's mistakes, especially this paragraph in the Billboard article:

"There is this culture of mostly American kids, and they're the ones that watch [Cartoon Network's] 'Adult Swim' and anime shows on that. They're the ones that shop at Hot Topic, and [many] can speak Japanese," he says. "A bunch of them just enjoy the culture, and they are really into it."

BUT

after seeing the crowd in New York, this paragraph sadly holds value. Ok, most can't speak Japanese, granted... Maybe a few words.
However, at least 75% of the people I saw had Hot Topic clothes. I even mentioned this in my original post about the show! I saw plenty of kids in those "bondage" pants and long black coats and strange shirts with fish net (oh Lord, the fish net!) and buckles and safety pins. Bad makeup, too. I've been in Hot Topic several times, and I know people who shop there. Trust.

As for anime, almost ALL of the Japanese music fans I know like anime, and liked anime FIRST. Even I got into it through video games. It's a fact I've learned to deal with.

If you can break a stereotype, good for you. That's what they are there for- to break them. I might get flamed for this, but I still think that a great majority of the fans are like this. Some LJ elitists can't deny it. I know several fans. I saw even more at the show.

If I really wanted to be a 'hole I'd post this in the Dir en grey community, since that's what everyone else is doing.
