another quick note:
ted leo is playing The 404 (that is to say, atlanta) in november. AWESOME, right? This would be my fourth time seeing them, fuck yeah. I would totally fuck Ted Leo (but not his Tampa cousin).
Then I read that TL/RX is really playing with Death Cab for Cutie at this pseudo-gigantic venue The Fox (that is to say, approximately the same size [if not bigger than] as the Tampa Theatre, which was even too big to really see Bright Eyes). I mean, come on. Death Cab?! I like them as much as everyone else (okay, maybe that's a lie. There are a lot of rabid O.C. fans who are infinitely more obsessive than I, which is to say...not at all), but I could NOT care less about seeing them live. Fuck.
I'm gonna miss being able to see TL/RX in a place like The Orpheum (ech, even) that was small and at least i could push my way to the front (and maybe...get sweated on?). The fact that fucking Death Cab is playing with them means a gigantic audience of made-up scenester-esque 12-year olds, and i will have to BUY (key word here) SEATS. You can't dance when you are in a venue with SEATS! FUCK! AND THEY WILL MOST LIKELY BE OVERPRICED! FUCK! FUCK LIFE! OU EST LA JUSTICE?!
additionally, there's some upperclasswoman who remarked upon my TL/RX hoodie the other night, and mentioned that the band would also be playing in Clemson and some other nearby town in SC. so I'm thinking... maybe I can avoid the insane tweens by going to a random show far away, in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STATE (i mean, if you weren't already aware that Georgia and South Carolina are not one and the same), where Death Cab isn't playing?
So basically, the lessons you all should be taking from my little tirade are: FUCK DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE! FUCK THE OC! VIVA TED LEO!
