Okay, the legal position of Spartan women was marginally better than that of women in other parts of Greece, but aren't we overdoing the emancipation act a bit here?

I read something when the movie first came out about how women were going to see it because they'd beefed up the female parts.

Um, no. Women were going to see it because of buff guys in leather skirts. Duh.

There isn't even that much boy touching, if you don't count the fact that some of the evil characters are flaming effeminate queens to emphasize the difference to the manly heroes...
