Jason Isaacs on the movie ''Good''

So I watched an interview a long time ago on Jason Isaacs, who was discussing his new film, Good.

Jason Isaacs says ''Good'' is really about the 30s and Germany, not the Holocaust. It's just mainly centered around the economic rebirth of Germany at that particular time (especially as it takes place circa. 1930s after WWI), and the thought that the good people could dilute and control the extreme elements in the party, having human rights taken away.

Interesting thought...

So the film, Good, is not just any  other Holocaust film. In fact, Jason [Isaacs] isn't even classifying it at all as a general, well, rather typical Holocaust film. It's more like a drama of 1930s Germany and- well, it's not even a Nazi Drama featuring the Jewish character Maurice (whom of which Isaacs plays) as a victim. He is portrayed- or rather- showed as more German than Jew and a lover of life.

Good expresses such themes as human rights. Is it a humanitarian film, then, not a Holocaust film afterall?

I believe, then, that ''liminating rights'' is the central theme.

holocaust, germany, modern history, historical shows, historical fiction
