A New Year

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope your holidays have gone well, though I must admit I find it hard to believe it is January already. Time seems both to be flying and yet standing still. I feel as though I have been exceedingly busy, and yet done nothing. It's a weird place to be.

After so long between posts I don't even know where to begin. Nothing seems relevant anymore, certainly not worth sharing, and everything is just a sort of blur of normalcy.

-- Enjoyed spending time with my family over Christmas, especially my adorable new niece.
-- Work is...work. Nothing really to say there.
-- The job search in ongoing (though there is at least one promising opportunity) and I expect things to open up again in the spring.
-- I've been speaking to a financial adviser about investing. So far it seems promising.
-- Saw "The Hobbit" and "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" recently. The first was enjoyable if somewhat disappointing, the second was fantastic and utterly beautiful.
-- Traveling to NYC this weekend to visit ISAW's exhibit Measuring and Mapping Space: Geographic Knowledge in Greco-Roman Antiquity which should be loads of fun. My mother and I will also be seeing "Waiting for Godot" on Broadway (starring Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan) which I'm sure will be entertaining.

Aside from trying to get over a cold (I have almost no voice at the moment), I myself am well. I am excited about the possibility of snow this weekend, and yet am hopeful that it does not negatively impact my trip north.

That's it. I have no more to say.

media, excursions, general blah
