I wish that's how I felt when reading technical manuals.

Actually... "Does reading manuals feel like I'm about to take a hefty ax to the head?" Yes. So perhaps it does!

Maybe they should write better manuals? Perhaps we would all be more inclined to read them if they leaned more towards epic adventure and less towards mathematical word puzzles.
