I loved it. Especially the Musee d'Orsay, which had all of the great Impressionist painters great works. It was beautiful. Unfortunately, Paris was cold. Around 30-20, with a 20 mile an hour wind, which made for a wind chill factor of -10. It was soooo cold. Too cold to walk around much. Here's me cold I'm in front of the Seine.
Okay, so I went to the Eiffel Tower- a couple of times. The first time, it was too cold. We took pictures though.
The Louvre was impressive. It was filled with Japanese tourists, who went straight to see the Mona Lisa, took pictures of themselves with her, and then left without seeing anything else. I thought it was hilarious.
In the Place de la Concorde, there's this ancient obelisk from Egypt. It was a really pretty place, with fountains and nothing matched. It was Baroque mixed with ancient Egyptian, mixed with Romantic neoclassical crap. I loved it. I feel that the French like to overdo things.
For instance the Neoclassical Sacre Coeur, which is really a beautiful church, but in a very over the top kind of way.
Nice gargoyles. And the Tour Eiffel at night. We saw it on our boat ride on the Seine.
The food was amazing. We didn't really eat French food much, but the rest of the other kinds of food were delicious. I ate only good meals there. I love France. It's really a nice place, overhyped, but nice.
