I don't get jealous often....
I really don't; I'm usually glad that I am who I am. But lately, I've found myself obsessing over a certain person's life: Dustin Heineman. (24-years old, looks like John Lennon.) He is a sixth generation wine maker living on Put-in-Bay, South Bass Island. His family roots are as rich and deep as the loamy soil that yields lush grapes on that beautiful island. He grew up there, went to Put-in Bay High School. He watched water snakes and herons and tall ships out his bedroom window. He probably had a summer job leading tourists through Perry's Cave. He always knew he'd have a job right out of high school, a family business to inherit. He learned the art of wine-making from his father and grandfather. He spent his young adulthood exploring the caves that no one gets to see, the uninhabited islands. He met a girl, and they had a baby: the first to be born on the island in many years. They have a home on the island, and all that he has to worry about now is that gorgeous vineyard. whether it will get cold enough for ice wine this year, when the ferry might start running again. What a simple, beautiful life with a rich past and so much hope for the future.
