Anthony’s excited when it’s time for the history exam, because it means that he gets to be in charge of study-group. He leaves the others to read notes he’s written while he goes to get coffee, expecting that they’ll be able to have a lovely discussion on Thomas Jefferson.
No one can answer his questions when he returns. He finds that no-one’s done the reading: the Lofting twins work on drawings of Monticello, Perrin and the beatnik argue over Sally Hemings, Hannah’s writing a gay romance between Jefferson and his law professor.
(Anthony is left wondering how effective study-group actually is.)
