Zacharie would be a far better artist if he didn’t think in terms of colours that didn’t exist, if there was not a disappointing difference between the colour-spectrum in his head and what he could re-create on canvas.

No-one has much money these days and the role of “starving artist” is a romantic one. He’s currently working on a series of remembrances of the best day of his life -shimmering aqua cornfields, champagne lit up with little golden lights, warm kisses and heartbreak blue and bronze and gold.

It is a pity that modern art has yet to come into vogue.
