Poor little Nimrod

May 15, 2012 17:28

In the desert, a nomad tells a story, and in the world of Myth I am created. "Nimrod," he names me. "A mighty hunter." And so I become. I roam the world of Myth, stalking dreams, battling delusions, spearing concepts. As my story changes, so do I: I become a giant, a dwarf, a tower-builder, a wise king. Always mighty. Then, in 1943, Bugs Bunny calls Elmer Fudd a nimrod. It's sarcasm, but the children don't understand. They think it's an insult, that a nimrod is a fool. And I transform. I will have revenge, you...you wascally wabbit.
