[uss enterprise] In which Amy sees someone she hasn't seen in a long time.

Amy loved the space ships.

It was just fun, bouncing from planet to planet, seeing all the different people and places. It let her get her hands dirty, but also let her explore and that was what she loved more than anything else. Plus, all the science was just fascinating. And the people just made things interesting. She particularly loved the ( Read more... )

Alec had been wandering a bit. Stretching his legs while Jim did captainy things. He needed to get a hobby here. Find a gym. Something.

The first thing he noticed was the Jinx had stopped and was looking down a branching corrador. He turned his head to see what had caught his interest. He caught site of her just as she called his name. He saw the soul first. All shimmery dark and filled with embers and power. That was all he needed to know her.

The body changed but the soul was who Amy really was. Though the body was niiiice. Blue eyes this time. "Amy." The smile was a mile wide and all little boy. She was a familiar and loved face. He had her by the waist and was spinning her around before he had even realised he was moving.

The problem with humans, even part-humans, was that they tended to die on her. She could be lucky enough to have those friends for decades, but they always left in the end. Being a demon, she didn't get to go where her favorite prophet went after death, but she knew that he was with his family and that was good enough for her. However, that didn't mean she hadn't missed him.

Now, however, she was real and solid in front of her, and her arms slid around his neck easily, laughing a bit into the spin as he held her close. "It's so good to see you."

Once he was done spinning her and the laughter had died down a little he hugger her close, nose pressed to her neck. Different body so some of her scent was different. But she smelled happy. This life deffinatly appealed to her. "I'm glad you're here. Someone I know." Someone he could trust with everything. He knew he could trust Jim, but Jim didn't know his secrets. Not all of them. "I'm glad you remember me."

"Honey, you're pretty hard to forget," she said with a small smile, leaning in to him a bit as she stayed close. "Especially when I'm the one who wound up taking care of your dog for the rest of eternity."

"I guess you are immortal." He looked at Jinx but didn't let go of Amy. "Thank you. I was always a little afraid he'd end up as part of someones hunting pack and. . . that wouldn't have been right for him."

"No, it wouldn't." Never mind the fact that losing Alec had taken a lot of the 'umph' out of Jinx as a hellhound for a while. The poor thing was heartbroken, and Amy did her best to help him, but when they were both feeling the same way, it made it a little hard. Alloces was able to help with that though. "And a space ship really isn't either. But he's safe and sound."

He had been going to ask, because Jim didn't seem to recognize Jinx so it made him wonder. "Who's he with?" He was curious. When Amy decided to take care of someone she did a good job of it. He knew that from experience.

"Alloces," she said. "They get along surprisingly well."

Jinx even manages to reign him in a bit, if that's at all possible. If he has someone to take care of, he's less likely to kill out of boredom, which makes things easier for him to stay topside.

Alec nodded a little and kissed her forehead. "I can see it." Alloces understood devotion. And he had honor, even if it was his own curious brand of it. He would respect what Jinx was.

She closed her eyes at the gesture, before looking back up at him again. "So how did you manage to run into Jim Kirk?"

"Uh, either he tried to hustle me at pool or I tried to hustle him. Not sure which at this points. Then I saved him from his last mark."

"That sounds like Jim. A bar fight was his audition to join Star Fleet."

"He did say something about how people that rescued him from bars seemed to have a profound effect on his life. I don't think I'm profound though."

"Well, you got him back to 2258. I'd say that's pretty profound." She tilted her head to the side slightly indicating for him to follow her back down the corridor. She wanted somewhere that would give them a little more privacy. "So how are you liking the future?"

"Valid point." He grabbed her hand and bounced along beside her, Jinx keeping pace with them. "It's fun. Lots of new stuff to learn."

"You should have seen them as they were coming up with this stuff, and figuring out that it could work," she gave him a bit of a grin as she squeezed his hand lightly. "They were like kids in a candy store."
