Good god, I need a day off.

For a pittance of a salary, I'm working for God knows how many days in a row now.  I don't mean to go off on a rant here, but there's no volunteers to cover all the shit that's going down on campus, and the photo editor and the associate photo editor are busy doing the fun, interesting and challenging (in a good way) assignments.  So now I have to run myself ragged for what's barely more than a volunteer position, doing all the legwork and taking on all the dull, monotonous assignments.  Here's my first one this week--the local sushi bar has changed it's name for the umpteenth time in four years.

Ok, so I got an image I was quite proud of from the sushi bar story.  I even got a quote and some background info for the journalist, just in time to have the story cut.

I shouldn't complain.  It's still interesting work, and I (occasionally) feel like I'm doing something a little closer to my full potential.  Besides, maybe it's just the learning curve--I need to learn how to do things faster, and I need to talk to the associate photo editor about pulling a bit more weight.
