Wow, a decent weekend for a change!
I've been here in Winnipeg since Thursday, staying with my friend Lindsay, and having a great time. We really didn't do much--saw Cars (which was great), went for Gelatti, got wasted last night, y'no, the usual. Well, Lindsay got wasted, my Aggie-style booze tolerance kicked in and I barely got buzzed off seven beers. Not that I'm complaining--seeing Lindsay that wrecked was worth it.
I kinda wonder why I don't have fun like this in TO. People keep telling me how much fun it is in Toronto, but I'm bored out of my fucking mind most of the time. Now I'm really reconsidering this upcoming move to Calgary, and thinking Winnipeg might not be a bad option especially if I'm serious about self-employment. Rent's cheap, people seem to support new businesses, and it seems to be a lot more cultured than I remember. And I may even have a couple of payed wedding photo gigs lined up if I do come back.
Bleh, it's something to think about.
And I didn't even have to feel like a slacker! Thanks to teh intraweb, I still got an image into the frosh issue of the Eyeopener. It took a bit of wrangling to get it just right (a setup shot with the old Bank of Montreal building in the 'peg and a handful of twenties) and a bit more to get it emailed, but at least my guilty conscience is a little less guilty for not being around to help spit out the first issue of the year.
