I met Ben Lee and fell in love with his guitarist
Tee hee. I accidently pressed enter and it said "error, must provide entry text". Anyway...
Went to The Gong to see Ben Lee on Friday which was super excellent. We got there about 5 hours early though. But we just hung around because we were just going to get lost/were too lazy to go anywhere else. We went to the office to pick up our tickets, and I'm glad that there were no bums who tried to steal them, because the lady didn't even check my ID or credit card. But anyway, I suppose in reality that wouldn't have happened. Then when we were walking back to the car I looked up and saw Ben talking on his mobile. We decided to wait for him, then he took ages. So we went and said hello to the ponies in the field. But when we got back he was gone. Then we chatted to the support band and they were pretty nice to us. They were a little stand offish but I think they weren't very people people, you know, not good with people they don't know. But they were still nice. We asked them if they knew where there was a bathroom and they said in the venue. Daniel goes "are we allowed in there?" and they go "We ain't going to stop you! If anyone asks just say you're with us!" That was very cool. Then we listened (from outside) to Ben and his band doing soundcheck which was pretty awesome. Then McGowan (his guitarist) came out and he came up to me and Daniel and started talking to us. He was soooo nice, and he had one of those laid back American accents that are really nice to listen to, not like the grating ones. He was sweet, much more peoplely than the support band (though that's not to diss them). Then he went away, and we kind of met Lara (the keyboard player) who really wanted to go for a swim. I said I hoped it didn't hail on her and she's like "oh no! I really want to swim!!". Then Ben came out and he's like "Guys let's go see Harry Potter!!" and he was so excited it was funny. Then we met him and I gave him this thing I knitted (a Smegle with his name on it that was stuffed with tissues I put lemon scented oil on). He seemed to like it and was nice and shook my hand. I'm like "I'm Kyna" he's like "I'm Ben". That was cool. And he said that my Smegle was for snuggling up to and held it against his face. Then they went to see Harry Potter. But after the (excellent) concert, McGowan signed my set list! Woot! He was such a sweetie, was purposely trying to talk to everyone, he was very excellent.
