[Several ink splotches appear on the page at first, almost like Draco's just hovering over it trying to think of what to write. When he does write though, the writing's messier than his usual, scrunched up and sort of hurried.]Tell me about death on your worlds. Homes. Whatever. Is it the end? Do you get a second chance? Or are you sent to

You're a real ray of sunshine, aren't you? Anyway, thanks for the cheery welcome. I am sure the feeling is mutual from us new folks, but let me answer your question real quick.
I don't there's a second chance granted to anyone after dying, at least not in my belief. In short, I sorta believe our spirits will ascend or something like that to another plane of reality, but it's not a second chance by far. Once you're dead, you're dead. There's no undoing that or at least I did thought that before coming here.
In Cocoon, it's many claim that your soul meets with the Goddess, but I doubt it. Deities wouldn't care about us little mortals.

The problem is that you're not exactly dead here, are you? Unless you're dead back wherever you came from because in that case you'll fit in with a portion of the population. If it's not a second chance though, what's the point of moving to another plane? Considering that there really aren't many facts about the way death works, I suppose it's an opinion that I might be interested in hearing.
You lost me at 'Cocoon' and 'the Goddess.' Elaborate?

Anyway, I am dead or rather I'm damn sure I died. I'm not sure what to think about this place or my situation, but it could be a hell of a lot worse.
If death allowed people to have second chances, then it wouldn't be the so-called end for mortals like us. When you're dead, you're gone. You lose your spot in the world, you lose everything except for your thoughts. Your thoughts or subconsciousness might still exist, but you aren't alive anymore. I mean, ever heard of the saying of 'living through the memories of others'? It's something like that I guess.
I'm probably not making any sense...
By the way, Cocoon is the place I'm from and the Goddess is called 'Etro'. In my world, everyone believes Etro harvests the souls of the dead or something of that nature.

...ah. Well that changes the validity of your statement just a bit then. It could be worse, but if you don't mind being revived and put through the ringer for the entertainment value of some freakshows we've never really met, then this is the place for you.
What about reincarnation? Or the existence of ghosts and spirits and the like? If that happens or whatever, do you still lose your spot in the world? Really I shouldn't be asking questions that have little to nothing for factual basis. I've heard something similar to it, but it's not the same as not entirely crossing over. Like right now. Where does it leave you if you're dead at home but alive here?
I'm making about as much sense as you are, I think, but you're one of the few people to respond with somewhat solid proof. I'm still sorting it out.
I won't even comment on the strangeness of the name itself. Is Etro real, or is she a legend like most other Gods and Goddesses?

To be honest, you're asking the wrong guy regarding some of these questions. The only reincarnation that exists is for those branded as l'Cie. Complete your focus and you're granted eternal life in the form of a damn crystal. Sometimes those branded by the fal'Cie, these god-like creatures, are given a second chance at life. I should know since met such a person before. She was asleep for eons as a crystal before awaking in my world.
Trippy stuff if you think about it, imagine going to sleep for years and years only to find out that everyone you know is dead? I guess this counts as reincarnation, but I don't like it.
What's so strange about the name 'Cocoon'? It's a floating continent that flies above the world below. The lowlands are called 'Pulse' but no one lives down there anymore.
Oh, yeah. Etro is definitely real. It's said that those who are at the end of their life see a bright light, I saw this when I passed on. They say this light ( ... )

I've been asking the wrong people since I've started asking these questions. It's hard to tell what's a right or wrong answer when death varies from world to world. [There's a very long pause in his writing though because, uh, what kind of dimension do you come from where people turn into crystals?] And when she awoke, everything was still in tact? Mind and body and all that? Better question, what the hell is a focus?
Well when you look at it that way...how long have you been dead, exactly?
When you come from a place called 'Earth', it sounds rather strange. The floating continent I can handle since I've met someone else with the same sort of world, but Cocoon.
That's sort of interesting in its own way. Gods and Goddesses don't exactly exist where I am. And you never made it there...because you came here?

[Oh, boy. He's getting used to the awkward pauses he gets from people when he tells them about Cocoon. Rygdea is starting to wonder if his world is truly that freaky.]
Yeah, she had all her arms and legs. The crystals they become are pretty sturdy. Hard as gravel to be honest.
[Does he want to explain what a 'focus' is? This poor fella probably won't get it.]
In order to appease the fal'Cie, the l'Cie must complete his or her focus. There focuses vary, but they act on the desire of the fal'Cie who branded them. If a l'Cie fails their focus, they become a mindless monster.
Man, don't give me that crap! Cocoon is a heck of a lot more creative than naming a world after dirt. Earth? Yeah, that's totally creative ( ... )

Oh. So the people that become crystals, are they stored somewhere so they don't get stolen or what have you? Sorry, it just sounds a bit unbelievable and kind of confusing.
Then the focus is like a life goal essentially. So it's either you become a mindless monster, or you become an unbreakable rock for your troubles. No really, what kind of world are you from where this is possible and considered somewhat normal?
Watch it! At least Earth isn't nearly as laughable as Cocoon! Besides I've never heard of it as a world before anyway.
...heh. Luceti seems to do that quite often, pull us from home when there are crucial events happening in our lives. As far as I see you've a few options. Either you can try to figure a way out of here, you can accept your fate and be stuck here, or a dose of both. Otherwise there really isn't much else.

Listen, I don't know about you but I wouldn't want a six feet crystal of a guy I once knew in my living room. Everyone fears the l'Cie in Cocoon. They are tainted or so what the theocracy says. Trust me, no one would come looking for a crystallized l'Cie.
You should drop by Cocoon someday so I can give you a tour of the damn place. I'm sure you'll like it.
HEY! It's still better than being called 'dirt'. Brat.
Actually, I am thinking of a third option here. If there's a way for the Malnosso to snatch us from our worlds, then there is a way for me to go to a different world.

Because that doesn't sound mildly disturbing at all. I thought it was something small, pocket-sized perhaps. Be specific next time will you?
What's not to like about someplace named after a caterpillar incubation shell? If there were such a way to really travel between worlds, I might go just to prove you wrong.
But at least it makes sense, doesn't it?
Where would you go though without knowing wat other worlds are actually like? Unless you're stupid enough to just jump without looking.

Shut up. You didn't ask about how big the crystals are.
You would only end up getting your ass Purged by PSICOM I bet. As soon as you state you're from Earth, Sanctum would label you as a threat to Cocoon just because you're different. So, I really hope you're being sarcastic.
...Okay, it makes sense. I'll give you that.
I'm not jumping head first anywhere. I am going to survey about these other worlds, and ask people what their native worlds are like first. If I am going to pick out a new paradise, it better come with all the works.
Reply
I didn't think that was something I had to ask, so it's still your fault.
Believe me, I was being incredibly sarcastic. I have enough to deal with on my own wor It's probably not that interesting anyway. ...PSICOM?
Glad you see it my way.
And what if your "new paradise" isn't a world that one of our fellow captives is from? How will you know about it then? Besides, most people will defend their home worlds whether they're good or not. Keep that part in mind.

You think Cocoon would be boring? Rich, just rich. You should be a comedian, kid.
Yeah, PSICOM. The Public Safety and Intelligence Command that is nothing more than a clergy of killers who execute innocent civilians for the sake of the fal'Cie, Eden. These guys would add enough fun to your stay in Cocoon.
Then I'll keep looking until I find a good enough world! I owe it to my buddy after all. If we ever went back to Cocoon, the both of us are going to end up dead again--so I got to take a chance.
This brand new paradise doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to put some distance between us and Cocoon.

Well aside from the crystallized l'Cie and all, what else is there to be worried about? I find nothing amusing about what I've said.
...so what's the point? Human sacrifice? I could take them all on before that would happen.
Sure, fine, who am I to stop you from being a bit overly optimistic? If you ever figure out how to actually get to another world you'd probably be the hero of the whole village.
