You're sounding pleasant. [She's being sarcastic. WHAT IS UP WITH YOU, DRACO? SHE IS CURIOUS.]

As pleasant as one can sound when they're surrounded by lovesick idiots, I'm sure. [Though he doesn't sound too sarcastic at this point. Maybe Potter's voice got a hold of him? Who knows! Draco is a man of mystery!]

[oho...] I'm sure. You must be enjoying the change. [Annoying and confusing mysteries, definitely.]

I suppose you could say that, yeah. What makes you ask?

You just sound particularly happy. That's all.

You say that as though I don't have a reason to be happy. Which, by the way, is completely ridiculous. I've all the reason to be happy.

Oh you do? And what reason would that be?

I have Potter. [The answer comes rather quickly, and the way he says it suggests that it should be fairly obvious.]

Yes you do. This is a very good thing, isn't it. [More statement than question.]

It is. But you sound as though you already knew that.

Do you realize it's been nearly a year since I started...associating myself with him that way? [Dating, Draco. It's called dating.] I'm still not even sure how we've managed to last that long.

Affirmation is never a bad thing, either.

Has it been that long? Sometimes I forget I've been here for a year and a half already. It feels like it's been only a few months. [She'll just... smirk on the other end.] You've managed because you're both learning and you're both willing to do it peacefully. [Meaning you silly boys aren't being stupid here.]

It is when you're being smug about it.

It's been that long. With everything that's happened here, time moves faster. [He can practically hear that smirk. Damn you, Hermione.] Have you forgotten the first six months Harry was here? I wouldn't call that peaceful.

And why is that, exactly? [What? The chances for her to troll him at all are usually slim to none.]

It does seem to. It's strange. [Smirking is one of the things she does best!] No, but the fact that you both were willing to work past that says a lot about both of you. You've grown past it and that's nice.

Because when you're being smug, Hermione, you've a tendency to rub it in. [He's aware. He does not approve of being trolled :|]

If we're being honest here, I think everybody but Weasley's grown past it and changed. What does that say about all of us?

Should I apologise then? [Get used to it, Draco. She'll likely never get an opportunity to do it again.]

That we're open to change and accepting of differing circumstances. [A sigh.] He'll come 'round. He's just stubborn and protective. [Both parts of why she likes him so much.]

It'd be appreciated, yes. [He's not being serious, but still. He's aware Hermione will never get many chances to do this.]

I blame being forced together. Can I blame that? [A snort. Yeah, he's not seeing that happening anytime soon.] I'm sure he will. Really.
