Treasure For Today
When the poor and needy seek water,
and there is none,
and their tongue faileth for thirst,
I the LORD will hear them,
I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
I will open rivers in high places,
and fountains in the midst of the valleys:
I will make the wilderness a pool of water,
and the dry land springs of water.
That they may see, and know,
and consider, and understand together,
that the hand of the LORD hath done this...
~Isaiah 81:17-18,20~
I don't have long at all to write, but I just wanted to share these verses God impressed upon my heart this morning!
Something I've noticed: God doesn't promise to take us out of the wilderness, or the dry land. He promised He will hear the cry, and will intervene supernaturally to refresh our spirit while in the middle of that dry place, that wilderness.
That we may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that HE has done it. HE has provided water where there was no hope of it. HE has refreshed the spirit of the desolate. HE has encouraged the one that could see no light at the end of the tunnel. The wilderness and drought are to drive us to Him. All of it works for His glory!
And that powerful, glorious God has promised not to forsake us.
