For since the beginning of the world
men have not heard,
nor perceived by the ear,
neither hath the eye seen,
O God, beside Thee,
what He hath prepared
for him that waiteth for Him.

Thank you so much, Marissa - this is such a beautiful post and the reminders were timely for me. I've been encouraged lately to remember how thankful we should be that we cannot see the whole picture -- we really couldn't handle it, I'm sure! :-) He is always, always working in love for our BEST, even when (especially when?) it least seems like it. PTL!

"We cannot see, we cannot know, we often say,
For God in love a veil doth throw across the way;
We cannot see what lies before,
And so we cling to Him the more;
He leads us 'till this life is o'er --
Trust and obey."

Yes, I love that song! And I think that is my favourite CD of the three. Do you have some of Abigail's CDs?

Abigail Miller, I presume? No...I don't have any of her CDs, though I like what little I've heard of them. It is a beautiful hymn, though; I've heard several recordings of it.

Yes, Abigail Miller. Sorry... I guess that song was one of the ones with un-original lyrics. ; ) I didn't think of that.

LOL, I didn't even think of it sounding funny, asking Abigail if she has some of Abigail's CDs. : p

LOL! Well, it's not the type of question I get often - if only because my name is quite uncommon except for young girls (like 8 and under). I imagine I'll become increasingly used to it as time goes on, though.

Come to think of it, you're right... it is pretty much only little Abigails that I know. : )

Well, I don't know too many Marissa's at all. I don't believe I've ever met another. No, I'm wrong, because when I was younger, we were at the farmer's market, and a lady was calling her little daughter Marissa, from the sound of it. But that's it.
There must be a few, because it's usually listed on personalized stuff at the stores. : )

Yes, it's been surprising to see how much my name has grown in popularity in recent years. In the annual baby section of our newspaper (which we received this week), Abigail is listed as the 9th most popular female baby name in 2006! (I assume this is US-wide, but it didn't specify.) I rather wish it wasn't so common now - I've always liked its uniqueness - but guess I can't help it that modern parents have good taste. ;-)

We were also surprised to notice that Marissa is #97 on this same baby name list. So you barely make it into the top 100, but you're there! I'm surprised, because you're the only Marissa I've known...but perhaps it, too, is gaining in popularity lately. And rightly so - it's a pretty name. :-)
