Okay, I've obviously been out of the dating world for a couple years, in fact I've never been on a blind date before, so as you can imagine I'm freaking out over here

If this is a dinner date I say go for more formal. It's always better to overdress than to underdress.

I would not recommend going in a hoodie & jeans, but that's just my two cents.

The black sweater & nice jeans sounds like a good option. I say go with that.
