Transformer Blew

Ok, so despite me wanting to just sleep through yesterday afternoon & evening, I actually went to work. I took max strength tylenol flu (non-drowsy), but that didn't decongest me, so I took some dimetapp and that didn't work either. I ended up taking some psuedoediphrine hydrochloride (not quite sure if that's how it's spelled) and that worked really well.. only I was really loopy when driving and that scared me. I hadn't realized that it makes people drowsy >< ... Well, I was desperate afterall. I spent around 10 minutes in a congested W 126 freeway -.- with impatient people beeping at each other and me half way in the dream state 'cause that medicine was taking its effect on me >< I was so scared. Well, anywayz, managed to get out of the traffic and get to work. I was only there for an hour when a flash of light went off in the distance over by 42nd street. All our lights and such flickered for a bit, went off and then came back on so we thought "Oh, it must be ok." Well.... it was ok then, but after a couple more minutes, everything went off again. We had some customers inside who wanted to wait for the lights and everything to come back on. My mom went around apologizing to the guests and my dad was basically fretting inside the kitchen, wondering if he should go over to Bi-Mart and buy some candles, etc and try cooking anyway -- -- >< I don't think so, there's no vent since electricity's gone if he cooks, the whole place will smell like smoke >< -- I looked up for the city thingy in the phonebook and wasn't sure what to look up: public works? maintenance? street lights? Finally I picked this public works telly and called only to land in the police dept. I was freaked.

The lady was like "This is the Spfld Police Dept ..." and I just froze.

"Umm... I'm sorry, I think I called the wrong number, um.. actually I just wanted to call and see who did lights and such in the city, because all the electricity in our building is completely off, etc etc."

And the lady said, "Oh no, you called the right place. We're aware of the situation, etc. A transformer blew up over by 42nd and the public (something) person has already been notified and they're working on it right now. It may be a couple hours before it's up again."

-.- *sigh* We couldn't run business last night, so I'm expecting it to be really busy today. Well, at least I'm slightly better from yesterday. I took some theraflu (nasty-tasting stuff >< I actually threw up after I drank it) and am better this morning. I think I've just about experienced everything in these past 3 weeks. Vehicle incidents, flu, cold, heartburn, nausea, work mishaps, etc, etc. *sigh* Well, at least my manga came ^^ I better go tell the others what I got XD.
