Ups & Downs of Living Right Next to a Kinokuniya

Ups: Direct access to all the Japanese series that I could ever hope for *__*  I just went crazy and bought 13 volumes of Skip Beat (in no particular order) in Japanese, bought "Norwegian Wood" by Murakami Haruki in both Japanese and English, and preordered "1Q84" which is due to come out in a week.  I love being able to buy all the Japanese goods that I could possibly hope for over in Kinokuniya.

Downs: I am so going for broke, not even joking.  The way I spend money, you'd think I were made of it.

But I'm not really concerned about the downs right now.  I'm more than just a little happy to share my joy of the ups in living next to this beloved bookstore.

I've been pretty busy so I haven't taken an pictures of the latest chapters for people to ogle over -- which I do regret -- and haven't had much time to do any translating at all, but maybe I can get back into everything soon -- or not depending on how life trips me up lol.  Sex Pistols was published in October's installment of BeXBoy so finally I can have a good dosage of Kotobuki Tarako again.  The next chapter will be in November.

I'm reading Shimizu Yuki's new series "Kachou Fuugetsu" right now, but I guess I'm still lingering on "ZE" at the moment.  It's hard to go through several years of loving these characters to suddenly changing over to new ones.  I think I went through the same thing when I transitioned from "Love Mode" to "Recipe" to "ZE."  It's pretty cute, but it's going to take me a little time before I fall in love with the series.

"Seito Kaicho ni Chuukoku" moves so slowly T__T  Not story-pace, but page-pace and installment-publishing-pace T__T  I WANT MORE!  RAWR!  I'm rolling around in anticipation for the next chapter every time there's a chapter available T__T  *sigh*

If I were made of money, I'd buy every magazine every month, but recently I've been wondering if it's worth the purchase -- who am I kidding, of course it is!  Even if they omit some pages or add them in the tank later, it's still enough to quench my thirst for great plot.  So... this brings me to my next point of literary "conspiracy"  -- not really, I just felt like using the word.

I think I may have come up with a theory in which publishers and authors have now begun a method of keeping fans from successfully scanlating their stories by omitting pages in the magazine version so you all would have no choice, but to go and buy the full version in the end.  It doesn't mitigate all pirating, but it's one method, I suppose.  Either way, I end up buying both =_=;  Oi... me...

And as of this past weekend, I have rekindled my love of "Skip Beat" and have gone completely insane reading all the chapters up to 180.  I'm now rolling around going nuts waiting for chapter 181 O_O;;;;  I'm on a book hunt for volume 19 in Japanese -- possibly one of the best volumes in the series, no wonder it's out -- and I'm pretty desperate.  I'm pretty sure in a couple hours if I'm still up, I'll probably wander over to YesAsia and order myself a copy =_=;;;;;;  (No please, don't do it, me!!!)  I guess I could ask Kinokuniya to order it for me, but I'm so impatient =_=;;;;;;;  It's technically cheaper to order from Kino... hmm....  what to do...  Maybe I will go to Kino and order it after all =_=;;;;  (Be still, my beating heart, stop skipping so much)

I have several other series that I am currently following, but it's going to take me a while to list them all.  The book collection in my room has really expanded =_=;;; *sigh*  I'm really worried about space allocation right now =_=;;;  *sigh*
