PHANTOM WAS AWESOMEEEE

omg!!!! phantom of the opera was AMAZING!!!! it was the greatest show i have ever seen. it was perfectly performed. we were so close to the stage. i could hear them breathing when they werent singing.. thats how close i was. lolz. HUGH PANARO WAS BREATHTAKING! he was amazing. he performed phantom so flawlessly. the show was 800 million times better than the movie. i highly recommend that everyone see the show. you will pick up the difference between the show and the movie immediately. omg it was awesome.

Prologue
- it was good. couldnt hear the auctioneer at first. i wanted the music box. it was so cool. the song that raoul sings is longer in the play version. really good.

Overture
- oooomg. when the chandelier lit up and the music started playing, my heart began to race a mile a minute. it started to rise, the dirty curtains hiding the golden figures around the stage were lifted, the overture was blaring. i was so excited watching the chandelier ascend to the ceiling.

Hannibal
- really great. i think carlotta had an amazing voice. she was really good. it was so colorful. a lot going on.

Think of Me
- the lady who played christine was really great, except there were some times during the entire play where she sounded weird and like she couldnt really sing, but other than that, she was amazing. Think of Me was so beautiful as she kept bouncing around the stage.

Angel of Music
- Meg Giry sounded like she couldnt sing, but Christine made up for it. it was really great. i was so excited at this point because i knew that the phantom would be making his appearance very shortly.. =)

The Mirror
- I was bouncing in my seat at this point. When i heard his voice, i wanted to melt. it was amazing. i was ready to run through the mirror myself. when he sang "I am there inside!", i thought i would faint from happiness. lolz. it was so well sung. when he appeared in the mirror, i was like omg wow. so cool.

Phantom of the Opera
- I had to hold myself back from jumping up and down when the music started. my sister and i had THE BIGGEST grins on our faces. i was speechless. the set was amazing. it got all foggy and dark and the candles began to rise just a little bit. they were walking on a bridge back and forth in the background. then finally, out they came on the boat. they came so close to us. they sang EXTREMELY beautiful together. it was perfect. it looked as if they were really moving through water because of the fog and candles. it was amazing. and when Christine began singing for him at the end, i was amazed. it was great.

Music of the Night
- Hugh was spectacular. the way he sang every note and brought a piece of himself into the phantom. all i could say at the end of his performance was "wow". all i could do during his performance was smile widely like an idiot. the way he would move across the stage and stare at christine and entice her... i think he was unintentionally grabbing every lady's heart in the audience. lolz. it was really amazing. i think he did just as great, if not extremely better, than crawford. he was spectacular.

I Remember/Stranger than You Dreamt It
- Christine woke up and began singing. it was so pretty. like she really sounded tired and amazed at where she was. when she ripped off phantoms mask, the anger and disbelief in his voice was scary. it was great. the way when he fell to the floor and began dragging himself across the floor to christine, singing and crying... there were no words for it. it was unbelievable.

Magical Lasso
- kinda had no purpose, but good nonetheless.

Notes/Prima Donna
- really really great. when everybody sang at once, they sounded absolutely perfect. i couldnt help mouthing along with them singing. prima donna was really good too.

Poor Fool, He Makes Me Laugh
- it made me laugh, but not in a bad way. some of the ways piangi sang and when carlotta croaked were really funny. the hanging body of buquet was really lame. the guy is really fat in the play, and the figure hanging from the noose is really skinny and doll like. i laughed. but other than that, really great.

Why Have You Brought Me Here/Raoul I've Been There/All I Ask of You
- It was all one big scene to me, so i'll combine it for these purposes. raoul and christine sang wonderfully together. it seemed like they were really in love. you could hear the panic in christines voice and the comfort raoul was trying to offer to her. when they hugged and kissed, it was kind of cute. before they began singing, the center part of the gold figures around the stage came down and hung in the air.

All I Ask of You (Reprise)
- he sounded so upset. the phantom was in the golden figures that came down from the air. he stood up and was crying. it was so heartbreaking. it gave me the chills. when he extended his voice, it was amazing. the golden figure he was in rose back up and the red curtains fell. the cast of Il Muto came out and began bowing. then the phantom appeared above the golden figures all the way above the stage and the chandelier came crashing to the stage. =) it was awesome

Intermission - i hobbled to the bathroom. i had bad blisters. lolz. they flickered the lights while i was down there, indicating that the show was going to start very soon, so i flew up the stairs as fast i could to get back to my seat. i left my mom and sister in the bathroom. lol

Masquerade/Why So Silent
- the colors were so vivid and beautiful. the set was huge and there were so many people on stage. the song was really well performed. i was smiling throughout the whole song. then when the phantom showed up, it was awesome. i had no idea that the deaths head mouth would move. i was like ooo snap. lol it was scary and cool all at the same time.

Notes/Twisted Every Way
-i liked how Christine was crying and begging not to perform. it was so lifelike. everyone sang wonderfully. when christine was singing "twisted every way" it kinda sounded weird at some parts, like she was choking or holding back a cough. but other than that, it was nicely done.

Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again
- Christine was wonderful. she was so sad but strong. it was really good and convincing. she would hold her hands up in the air as if really talking to her fathers spirit. it was great

Wandering Child/Bravo, Bravo
- another perfomance i waited all night for. i love when they sing wandering child together. the people who played Phantom and Christine (Hugh Panaro and Sandra Joseph) are really a perfect match vocally. it was enchanting. the way she began singing to the phantom and walking towards him with her arms outstretched. it was beautiful. then raoul showed up and he and the phantom would argue. the fireballs that the phantom threw from his staff were really cool. then christine finally convinced raoul to leave, and the phanom declared war on them both. then there was a stage full of flames that made half of the audience blind.. lol we were so close that i could feel the extreme heat from them, even though they blazed for only a second or 2.

Don Juan Triumphant
- really good... but the best was yet to come. =)

The Point of No Return
- another performance i waited ALL nite to hear. i was so excited to see how they were going to perform it. nothing like the movie. they were on the ground the whole time and on a bench. and you couldnt even see the phantom. he was in a long black robe with a large hood pulled over his face. they sang so beautifully together and with such passion and frustration. it was amazing. and then she pulled his hood off and revealed his mask. the managers and raoul persuaded her to continue. he began singing to her and then she finally pulled off his mask and hair. omg it was like wow. it was scary, but you couldnt help but feel really bad for him. it was great how everyone was running around the stage like chickens without heads and singing. it was kind of sad because i knew that we only had one major scene left. =(

Down Once More
- christine and phantom yet again were great. she sounded so scared when she sang and he sounded so powerful and controlling. the way he would kinda start to yell and shove the flowers into her hands as she cried. then raoul showed up and the phantom acted like a lunatic. he was laughing crazily and acting weird before he let raoul in. he then threw the punjab lasso around his neck while christine pleaded for him to be set free. when the 3 of them sang together, it was perfect harmony. they sounded astonishing. the way he was crazy mad, raoul was pleading to christine, and christine was pleading to the phantom to let him go. my mouth was gaping open during this whole scene. it was breathtaking. and then when christine finally began singing to him and kissed him, i was smiling like crazy. it was beautiful. she was being loving and passionate and it looked like he was holding back and didnt want to put his hands on her. but then when he was just about to embrace her during the kiss, she pulled away. you could see it on his face how he was feeling. you couldnt help but feel bad when he told them to leave him. his sobbing was so deep and sad. then christine came back to give him the ring, and he sang "christine, i love you" so softly. then she ran away, and he kept saying i love you i love you. this is where i began to cry.. lolz. i admit it, i was crying. then he kept saying i love you until he heard raoul and christine singing "all i ask of you". then he sang his final lines so beautifully and majestically: "you alone can make my song take flight. its over now the music of the night!" i was crying watching him. it was soooo sad. so he walked around and then sat in his chair and put his cape over himself and the chair. then meg came in and pulled off the cape, and he was gone. and all that was sitting there was the mask. the end

i was crying and smiling all at the same time. i was the first person to histerical clap when the curtains closed. then the people from the show came out. i saved my really hard clapping for when raoul and christine came out. i stood up when christine came out. but when phantom came out, the audience was practically jumping into the air. i was clapping so hard that my hands went numb. i was yelling and cheering. it was brilliant. i am sooooooooo glad that i got to see hugh panaro before he leaves on saturday. so all in all, PHANTOM WAS THE BEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN. i want to see it again sometime soon. it was amazing and i definately will never ever forget it. hehe
