HUH. I'm not sure how you define minor here, or whether you mean in canon or in camp. I'll try to cover both!

Camp: In DDS, you have four dating-sim-esque dialogue choices over two games that will give you Heat in DDS2's final dungeons if you answer them right! They have to do with whether Heat feels trusted, understood by, and generally in tune with Serph. If you answer all those questions correctly, he's able to man up and face/sort through his feelings and guilt enough to help you in the final dungeon. Our Heat and former Serph both play assuming that Serph Did It Right to get Heat, which means our Heat updated in camp with enough self-aware understanding of our jesus leader to know that he cared a lot about him. This led to making out eventually! Good times were had by all.

If Serph had answered any of those moments wrong, Heat and Serph's in-camp development would have been very different, and thus Sera's life in camp would be very different! Because Sera's love of and understanding of Heat is largely rooted in her understanding and knowledge of his love for Serph; it's a point where they can connect. Their recentish cathartic thread where they finally figured out their feelings about one another and their situation was almost entirely about Serph. Sera's relationship with Heat is one of the things she treasures most about her time in camp, so that's a big change!

Strictly in canon, well... at one point someone accidentally pressed a button in the silliest deus ex machina ever, and turned on a video feed that showed her that the person closest to her was betraying her! It basically led to the first time Sera's faith in humanity was broken and the subsequent creation of demons, without whose exciting vore possibilities DDS would not be what it is today. She might have found out eventually about Sheffield even without the ACCIDENTAL BUTTON PRESSING but however it happened, circumstances and how they shaped the future would have been very very different.

Haha, SO DOES RATATOSK THINK THAT THE FUTURE IS TOTALLY HOPELESS RIGHT NOW OR WHAT.

Not quite, but it's close! The thing is, Ratatosk is still grieving the loss of the Great Kharlan Tree and I think he will be for a very long time. I mean, he felt his tree die by inches for thousands of years while he was helpless to do anything about it! It died in part because Ratatosk trusted a half-elf to do the right thing! And the worst part is that Ratatosk at that time honestly believed that Mithos would do the right thing. So Ratatosk is grieving not only the death of his tree but also his own innocence and faith in people.

Now, the Ratatosk that killed Aster would think that a world of half-elves and humans was worthless and that the only way to change the future was to kill them off starting right about now. However, post-game, Ratatosk has met Marta and has created Emil, and both of them work to convince Ratatosk that he can have faith in humanity, or at least that Emil will show him that humanity deserves to live. So at that point in canon, Ratatosk trusts Emil and Marta a lot. If they say that things will change, if they say that things will never be used, they won't be!

Arche in camp introduced an additional element. First, Ratatosk fails. She's a living embodiment of his and Richter's failure to rewrite the world's natural laws so that humans and half-elves can't use mana. Second, she's from a future where they use a mana cannon again! This is really bad! When Ratatosk found out about that, he was pretty much ready to wipe everyone off the earth then. Good times! However, Ratatosk realised when killing the ghost mother thing that he actually felt really bad about killing. One person was horrible; two entire species was something that Ratatosk was now not sure he could do. And man, did he hate that, because what if it was his duty to? So he tried to convince himself that he could do it, even if it meant destroying his new-found if very tarnished faith and optimism, because even if his tree couldn't be saved, Martel's could.

Fortunately for camp, Arche also reminds him a lot of Marta, and if there's something that Ratatosk cannot do, it's hurt Marta. Well. Not intentionally. He sure does it accidentally. Anyway. There was this conflict between "can I hurt someone who, for all I know, is Marta's child?" and "if I kill everyone now, Martel will live", and Ratatosk basically resolved it by telling himself that Arche told him that Martel is alive and that they have promised to look after her Tree. This is on top of Emil pretty much continually telling Ratatosk that they would change things! He and Marta would do whatever it took to make sure that the mana cannon was not used again! These three people that Ratatosk trusts implicitly (though he'd be hard pressed to admit it) say that things will change.

So basically, after Tenebie kept talking sense into Ratatosk to make sure he didn't nuke camp, Ratatosk got jesused by his own faith in people and doesn't even know it. Right now, he's still miserable. He hates the idea that Martel may still die! That a mana cannon may still be used! Emil and not-Marta say that things will be okay though, and Tenebrae is this continued presence of "come on, Ratatosk, think". These things are keeping him semi-stable, though he's miserable and hurting. I mean, if you read his conversation with Arche as "why didn't anyone care about me," that's pretty much how he thinks right now. He's grieving in the most terrifyingly deranged way that a cosmically powered summon spirit can, but people in camp are stopping him from basically snapping and wiping everyone out.

that made absolutely no sense. OH WELL.

How does Toothless impress the ~ladies~ when he decides he wants some of that female dragon action?

RATATOSK YOU ARE ADORABLE :(

In the past, I think it was fancy flying! This... would now require having Hiccup as part of his courtship which, which is a problem. So he mostly just blows things up and tries to look suave about it.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER TALES CHARACTERS YOU WANT TO APP RIGHT NOW?

oh my god that is the most adorable mental picture in the world.

ALSO I REFUSE TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION ON THE GROUNDS IT MAY INCRIMINATE ME LATER. (Yes, but I am not saying who)

What's the most magical moment that Sebastian has had in canon or camp?

YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SMOOTH HE REALLY IS!!

hahahahahaha

. . . well. Until the last Black Butler chapter came out, I would have said the Loveless fight he and Ciel had with Jade and Rain in camp, in which he dashed around saving kittens raining from the sky at one point. Now that we have new canon, though, I am going to have to go with his mindfucking Arthur Conan Doyle into becoming a successful author. Because. That happened.

What's something you really want to do with Colette at some point?

I DO NOT COMPREHEND THE BEAUTY, NO. ALAS.

cry forever ;;

...omfg that's amazing what is this.

UH. WELL. I actually don't know! The last thing I wanted to do was to have Colette sub in for Ion during Luke's ~special attack~ and she did that the other week. I actually don't have any plans for Colette and to be honest, I'm a little at a loss as to what to do with her. I'm hoping that, after I finish my Abyss review I can power through Symphonia 1 and 2 again and see if it can give me any inspiration. I can keep tossing her at characters and that's fun but I feel like I need something ~magical~.

Is there anything that Lien truly misses about China?

ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE WROTE A STORY CIEL LIKED IN A MAGAZINE so Ciel invited him to an overnight at his mansion, which was supposed to just be a way to kill off some people conveniently and turned into a ~murder mystery~ where the true murderer was one of the Queen's servants and the whole thing was pulled off via Sebastian being amazing. Arthur was there as an uninvolved witness who could testify that none of Ciel's people could've been the murderer! Mentioned but unrelated to the plot was that he just hadn't been able to find inspiration since writing that story... Anyway, because of Sebastian dropping hints for lulz, he picked up on something being strange and came back to the manor afterwards to confront Ciel.

...so they explained everything, threatened him to get his silence, and then Sebastian showed him is true form, horrifying and terrifying him for life, to ensure he wouldn't talk. When Ciel went... so why'd you have to do that, his response was "Writers who have a terrible experience have to write about it, that's the kind of creature they are. The young master liked his story, so he'll start writing again and his next work will be a masterpiece. :')"

SEBASTIAN MINDFUCKED ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE INTO AUTHORHOOD.

YEAHH SYMPHONIA REPLAY

Yes! The mountains, the scenery, the language - pretty much everything. NOT BEING IN CHINA IS A HOLE IN HER LIFE.

Any NON-Tales canons catch your eye lately?

...wow your canon.

I am going to do the Symphonia replay after ... I play something happier between it and Abyss. I can't do the transition between the two without being depressed.

AND ACTUALLY, YES. I'M QUITE ENJOYING FINAL FANTASY XIII, WORLD EMBRYO GOT MINDFUCKINGLY AWESOME LATELY, STAR OCEAN 4 SEEMS PRETTY GOOD THUS FAR and I am super pumped for the next Scott Westerfield book. Also the new X-23 series and the new Young Avengers mini look decent, and Batgirl remains my favourite.

Which character of mine did you not expect me to app? Same with your line up!

I have stopped being surprised at your lineup, but I guess Batgirl! THAT'S STEPHANIE, RIGHT? idek batcanon COMICS CANONS SEEM SO HUGE AND ALL-ENCOMPASSING TO ME I am always surprised when people have the balls to app them.

Sebastian is the biggest surprise on my list to me just because he didn't ping me and I apped him very casually, only to fall in love with him more as I started playing him. But I think the app of mine that probably surprised OTHER PEOPLE the most was Littlefoot, because I don't think I'd apped anything but cannibal lolis before that and who expects someone who's relatively freshmeat to just app Littlefoot out of the blue, anyway.

Tell me about World Embryo, THE NAME INTRIGUES ME BUT I DO NOT THINK I HAVE EVER HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT IT
