I guess I'm going to Twicon...

While I'm suspicous of the convention, I'm still planing on showing up for it. I put in the time off request today, so all I have to do now is arrange a ticket. There seems to be quite a glut of people who have reconsidered going to the con, so I'm hoping this stays that way till the con rolls around. I'm sure as hell am not supporting these greedy bastards personally.

As for the greater reason of why I want to go to Twicon, when I am not really a fan of the books, there are wto simple reasons.

  • If said Twicon pulls a Fedcon, I do want to be there to witness the crash firsthand. I'm not assuming it will, but if that is the case I'll be there bare witness to the fiasco (and maybe have a flyer prepped listing the contact info for the appropriate authorities :)

  • Skippy Wants To Do This

My most memorable convention experiences have always been at events where The Great And Glorious Klingon Warrior Of Epic Legend ™ was the Elephant in the middle of the room. When I showed up at the Gathering of Gargoyles back in 1999m it earned me the "Miss Congeniality" Award at the costume contest, but also a kiss from Myhr. To say the least I've been running off that story for the past decade, so it's high time I got some new material. So Twicon should be the perfect venue for this. Considering that in all likelihood, I'll be towering over all of these girls, and being one of the few people in an actual costume, not just wearing pale makeup and sparkles, I should attract quite a bit of attention. I'm quite sure the little Twihards will have no idea what to make of me, which is always fun.
