It all started when I looked up some information on The Elephant Man Joseph Merrick. I had this idea for a Late Victorian era story and he was going to play a role in it. That lead me to the page on the Royal London Hospital, since that is where he lived out his last days. On that page they mention a BBC series Casualty 1900's. Which is a mix of period and medical drama set in that era. I find I'm intrigued by this series and I'm thinking about hunting down some episodes of it online, just to satisfy my curiosity. Apparently the parent show Casualty is the UK's version of Law & Order, a long running drama that has created at least three spin-offs so far.
And that got me thinking... with Rory and Amy ending their time with the Doctor, wouldn't it be cool for Rory (who is a nurse after all) to turn up on Casualty? That would make for one hell of a Christmas special crossover.
