Endgame stat allocation rules

Once a character starts hitting the maximum in a given stat, the Returners game engine seems to be somewhat ambiguous about how stat points can be spent further.

This set of rules is confusing, even to myself. Read it very carefully.

If you have 5 stats at the maximum (all but 1), you are required to still raise the final stat if at all possible.

If the most recent stat raised was the final (non-maxed) stat, you may spend a point to raise the maximum of another stat by 1.

Raising the maximum of a stat does not treat that stat as the most recently raised stat. It instead sets the most recently raised stat to a null value.

If a stat was the most recently raised stat, the maximum for it cannot be raised.

No stat can be meaningfully raised over 30. If any combination of mods raises a stat above 30, the stat is 30 instead.

This made no sense, I'm sure. It's example time.

EXAMPLE 1

Max is in the endgame. He has all of his stats except for STR at the maximum. His maximum STR is a whopping 21. Max raised STR to 14 last level.

This level, he may choose to spend a point to raise any of his attribute maximums by 1. He chooses SPD. His most recently raised stat is set to a null value.

Next level, he may either raise STR or SPD, his choice. He is not a retard and chooses SPD. His most recently raised stat is now SPD.

The next level, he must put a point into STR, making it 15.

EXAMPLE 2

Spencer is at the endgame. Last level, he raised his MAG to maximum, which was his final stat (Most likely this will happen after the end of the campaign, lol).

This level, he chooses to raise his maximum for STR by 1. His most recently raised stat is set to a null value.

Next level, he has only one stat to raise. He raises STR. His most recently raised stat is now STR.

Next level, he must raise a stat maximum. He cannot choose STR. He chooses SPD. His most recently raised stat is set to a null value.

Next level, he has only one stat to raise. He raises SPD. His most recently raised stat is now SPD.

END EXAMPLES

I am pretty sure this is still confusing, but at least sam gets it.
