Yesterday I was sitting down to start writing my final tech report for work and, as I was staring into the screen, I realized that simply spouting a thousand words was not something that I could do easily anymore. I prefer to think of it as writer's block. Interestingly enough, while I was at Preview this past week I happened upon a book entitled Scriptomania (or something along those lines) which describes writing as a psychological imperative that can, over time, manifest itself as an addictive behaviour. This book also blamed a psychological impasse for writer's block, which I find quite comforting.
Speaking of Preview, it went very well. I'm excited for the Fall. Oh, and I'm a Chemistry major. I know, left field. The biochemistry and molecular biology major I want to end up with is an interdisciplinary major that I can get into until sophomore year, so for now I'm a Chemistry major, which I find hilarious since I havent taken Chemistry since freshman year. So besides work I've also been occupying myself with reading an archaic Chem text from my father's college days. It has made for a fantastically interesting summer, I assure you.
I saw my apartment while I was down this past week, and I was less than thrilled. The building is definately not one I requested- its actually one that I requested not to have. Its in the back of the complex, which apparently no one cares about, because it was kind of dirty and gave the impression of being disheveled. Kellon, Jordan, and Dutton are in the same building though, and I figure it shouldnt be too hard to clean the caked pollen off of my patio. I'm still too thrilled about having a patio (and my own dishes) to be overly concerned with anything else.
