My notebook at home is officially pronounced dead after 3.5 years of service to me TT___TT. Turns out that the motherboard is damaged and needs to be replaced, and it cost more than a half of the price of a brand new laptop

NOOOOO. :( Your poor computer. May it rest in peace. Sigh. If I could magically give you a computer, I would. But alas, I do not have magical powers like Harry Potter. Or I can't perform amazingness out of nothing like the United boys. So, we're going to pretend that you have a computer, and internet. LOL. Hope you get one soon, love!

I was planning to buy one anyway, but not at this moment, so the money isn't ready now. Not to mention the sheer temptation of United's 06/07 Season Review DVD...

Actually there are still two more computers at home, my dad's and my brother's but they don't want the computers to directly connect to the internet since it's mostly for their work and they're wary of virus and spammings and all, so... ;___;

Doesn't matter. I'll threaten/beg my brother to move his computer, he has to, for the sake of my sanity *g*.

I have to endure a week without computer and therefore internet also at home now. Thankfully at the office the internet is not restricted so I've been browsing and downloading like mad now..

.. though the network person often remind me if my download spree is over the top :p, but they generally turn a blind eye on this matter, as long as I'm not taking the bandwidth too darn much, hehee..

I've been saving for a new laptop for quite some time, actually, but this saving was what I plan to use to buy the season review DVD and so many assorted things *g* (girls, what do you expect?).. looks like I have to tighten my expense now :p...

I understand the budget thing. Notebooks don't come cheap here. I plan on getting my own laptop but until then, I have to use the spyware-infected, super slow desktop.

I'll help you to tie your brother up and wave that plastic knife around at him. :p

Oh, absolutely. It's such a shame. And even if I can painstakingly afford the notebooks, the operating system (windows) and office, are very pricey it is almost crazy.

I'm tempted to use open source like linux, but I'm dead if something goes wrong because I don't understand linux, like, at all.

Thankfully the harddisk is okay (there's a bright side in everything, I suppose ^^;?) and all my important documents (AND MY FICS AND MY UNITED PICTURES~~!!) are all still intact. phew.

They charge extra to install Windows or Vista in the laptop after you bleed all over to pay for the laptop.

I don't use Linux so I have no idea how it is.

At least your fics and MU guys are all still safe and sound. *pets hard disk lovingly* Will you be using any other ways to be online for the moment?

Aww RIP Notebook :(
