Chelsea 1- 0 Manchester United
OK. What the fuck happened? We scored 80+ goals all season long and nw for the last 3-4 matches, and when it mattered the most, we couldn't even nick one.
The back four were great defensively IMO, especially the CB pairin, Rio and Vida. It was unfortunate that they were caught sleeping once and Drogshit punished them properly :(:((. Mind, both Gaby and Wes were a bit poor when it came to attacking and crossing tonght :(.
But nothing worked in midfield. It's harsh, but both Giggsy and Ronnie were shite today. Giggsy was absolutely shocking and TBH Ronnie didn't really look like he bothered much. Both Darren and Michael were patchy, though there were some brilliant passes from Michael. Scholesy? He should get a winner's medal. No seriously. Others might disagree(though I doubt it because it was so glaring) but, he was the best player on the pitch and that defence splitting pass right to Wayne's boot was just pure magic.
Wayne : worked his socks off, isolated, some brilliant touch but mostly poor control when it mattered the most (how the fuck could he misscontrolled that pass from scholes? It was 99% goal!).
I thought Smith should be brought on earlier and Carrick shouldn't be subbed off.
Bottom line, deservedly lost. It was a fairly even match, they took their chance well while we've been throwing ours away like it was a garage sale.
Let's hope none of this lingers when the new season rolls and we'll hit the ground running again.
